Hey there! I'm just getting started with overclocking, but I recently pushed my 5930k to 4.2Ghz. I'm curious—are those settings suitable for everyday tasks like gaming? In the software, the Vcore is set to +0.080V at full load, which brings the voltage up to about 1.155V, and the CPU IO stays at 1.125V. The stability tests passed, and everything ran smoothly with the system left on auto. During idle, temperatures hover between 36-41°C, but under full load they peak around 68°C with an average of 65°C. Are these temperatures safe for regular use?

It's normal for temperatures ranging from 85C to 90C and higher to reduce CPU lifespan, though it won't be significant. You're in a good position; even with an overclock to 4.5ghz, you should be okay. For maximum safety, aim for temperatures at or below 80C.

Seems typical 5th gen HEDT numbers, you’d likely hit around 4.5 with under 1.25 volts.

Consider focusing on other factors like voltage or power delivery if you want to hit those higher clock speeds. No need to tweak the VCO or VCC voltage unless you notice stability issues.

I successfully installed a 4.4ghz OC with temperatures reaching up to 70°C max, while the room stays around 23°C. Idle temps are at 39°C. Vcore set at 1.22.

I corrected the setting by switching from offset to adaptive. After applying the temperature reduction of 6-8°C at full load with the same VCore, it worked properly.
