I focused on the mi 10 and 11 models because of the active modding scene and the desire for a Snap 860 or better with a 120hz display or higher. The top cameras also add value, which is good if I decide to buy around six to seven months later. Likely I’ll opt for an 11t Pro if the 10t Pro doesn’t hold its value below $200 (current price is about $270). It’s wise to get the details now in case the upgrade happens sooner than expected—I’m pretty sure overclocking isn’t necessary once I eliminate any CPU throttling issues. For a solid competitive experience above 120hz, I’d rather prioritize performance than just FPS. My current limit is more about frame rate than quality, so I should aim for higher FPS.

From what I’ve read, the CPU overclock can be handled through the kernel—either with a custom kernel using the frequency interface or by manually adjusting settings to boost speed. Android software might also support this. GPU overclock isn’t crucial, so I’d consider undervolting or running at efficiency mode. Cooling should be fine, and I’m not too worried about severe failure; phones are more forgiving than PCs.

My main concern is recovering the device if the overclock fails and it doesn’t boot. Regarding voltage adjustment via the kernel, yes, that’s possible. Changing the CPU frequency manually could also work. As for the Snap 870 Prime Core, since it shares the same core architecture as performance cores but runs at a higher clock speed, I can probably set all performance cores to match the Prime Core’s frequency if they’re identical.
