Adjusting memory caused BIOS issues, but flashback isn't happening.
On my MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wifi I tried to boost my RAM with Try It! but got nothing. Resetting CMOS didn’t help. The BIOS flashback isn’t working even though I used the latest stable BIOS on both USB 3.0 32 GB and USB 2.0 16 GB drives. The flashback light keeps blinking and it’s been over an hour. The CPU shows a motherboard failure. I think the board is now only supporting 3000 series Ryzen instead of my 5600X, though I’m not sure. I also tested the RAM on another system and it still functions properly.
An OC can't really lock BIOS... It might just be having trouble starting up for some unknown reason. What you're able to do is reset the CMOS (maybe you accidentally jumped the jumper or pressed the reset button while the computer was off), and then you can try putting only one stick of RAM in and see if it boots normally to reset it back to default settings.
I attempted to jump the jumper using a tool for 30 seconds. Then I removed the CMOS battery for a minute and reinserted it. Could be the battery wasn't properly seated.
The motherboard warning light remains active on the CPU. It might be a sign of a deeper issue.
This situation shouldn't be feasible... Yet we don't know what kind of faulty BIOS MSI might be installed and how it could have affected things. You might want to re-seat the CPU, remove the GPU just to check if it boots without any graphics card (look for at least a pass through the error light), and beyond that, perhaps RMAing the motherboard is the best choice. Also, keep in mind a general tip: avoid overclocking RAM unless you're very experienced. It's simple to set up a seemingly reliable system that turns out unstable, causing slow performance and silent memory issues. This won't damage the BIOS but could harm Windows and data on the hard drive or SSD. CPU and GPU settings are straightforward to change, but stability is often uncertain. I recommend reading this guide carefully before attempting any RAM overclocking: https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHel...guide/DDR4 OC Guide.md
I would attempt to update an older BIOS instead of the newest version.
