I'm completely new to overclocking and don't have much experience with PC hardware.
I looked at my specifications and see that my FX-8320 is running at 3.5 ghz with 4 cores (that seems confusing since it has 8 cores?)
I thought I'd try changing the CPU settings from the stock speed to turbo at 4.0, but I learned not to use the turbo core at all.
Here are my details:
CPU: AMD FX-8320 Black Edition
Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 (rev.4.0)
Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Temperatures from the CPU HW Monitor (in Celsius) when nothing is running:
AMD FX-8320, Package: Value 35, Min 31, Max 43
And the other one (Gigabyte tech): Value 43, Min 42, Max 43
System: Value 43, Min 42, Max 43
CPU: Value 50, Min 48, Max 52
TMPIN2: Value 33, Min 30, Max 45
First of all, is it safe to change it to 4.0 ghz on this motherboard?
If yes... I would really appreciate it if someone could explain the process in the simplest and safest way. What should I disable in UEFI, what changes are needed, etc.
