It's a brand new setup. All updates applied, including BIOS and Windows. Everything was working well initially. Enabled XMP profile, performance remained solid. Adjusted timing slightly. No post issues. CMOS cleared without problems. Any suggestions? This is my first build. 5600x 32G 3600MHz CL18 Team Group Gigabyte B550M K RX 6800.

Ensure CMOS is cleared properly. Power the PSU while keeping it active. Use a screwdriver or similar tool to connect the specified pins and then power it back on.

It isn't a quick fix with little skill. Work through each step carefully, run stress tests on different apps—don’t rush the process. If you skip proper checks, microflicks or crashes can hide, making performance look worse than it is. Doing multiple timings correctly reveals your level of experience. Rushing or shortcutting a RAM OC hurts progress and wastes time. Changing settings without understanding them only leads to more confusion later. This isn’t about being harsh; I’m just trying to help you avoid repeating the same mistakes. If you’re aiming for better performance, especially in gaming, learning the right methods now saves you trouble down the line.

Focus on lower frequencies—those are more reliable. For high-frequency operations, these still serve as useful references. Someone likely runs heavy tests and shares their findings. If you’re not hitting stable speeds above 3000, tweak a bit and try again. For top speeds, aim for 3600+ but keep in mind stability drops quickly. I mostly test at max frequencies and check for consistency. If you need a quick fix, I saw someone get over 3000 with minor adjustments. Most of these setups are stable around 2900, but tweaks help push past that. It’ll take some work, but you can optimize the rest after getting a solid baseline.

I set it to cl17 and removed 2 from the rest. From cl18 22 22 42. It’s a 2 16g 3600mhz t force Vulcan z
