The modem's performance isn't the main concern; it's the service plan you're subscribing to. What data rates are included in that package?
I also have a Wi-Fi connection that operates at 150 megabits per second.
I purchased the 150mbps plan but it only worked for 15 minutes.
Here are some details: What tools are you employing to check performance? Are you connecting via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable? Do you expect 15 Mega bytes per second (MBps), or 15 Mega bits per second (Mbps)? Around 150 Mega bits (Mbps) corresponds to approximately 18-19 Mega bytes per second (MBps).
I link via an extender the NETGEAR N300 Wall Plug Version Wi-Fi Range Extender (WN3000RP) and use Ethernet. My current speed is 500mbps, yet I only see 15mbps during testing.
Range extenders aren't the best choice, usually you should avoid them unless you really need an Ethernet connection far from the modem or router. Have you tried using another device directly connected to the modem/router? Or if you're using Wi-Fi, did you move the device closer to the router (leaving the repeater off)?
