Use the extreme approach. Block all but the IPs you need for internet access.

It’s simpler to turn off the network interface in one operating system rather than dealing with network configurations overall.

Are you overlooking something? Instead of just isolating the VLAN, consider blocking internet access directly. Map the restricted VLAN to specific ports and allow the rest to connect via the wireless network. Secure the firewall accordingly.

It looks promising. The simplicity of the consumer router seems to be a good starting point.

Another user you follow recently talked about configuring a manual IP address on their device using an incorrect gateway. This should function locally, though it won’t connect to the internet.

I managed it, even though it wasn't exactly what I planned. I first checked the MAC address and then restricted internet access to it, but I realized I needed to alter the MAC address for my work setup since it matched my private boot. I’m likely to adjust it so only permitted MAC addresses can reach the internet. This way I won’t have to disable it every time someone tries to block my MAC. It keeps things safer and offline. For Wi-Fi, I hope the guest network remains unaffected by the filtering. I’m okay letting some devices through MAC addresses but don’t want to constantly add guests to the filter. This seems like the best fit for my home situation, and I have space to expand later if needed. Thanks for all the tips and support—they really helped ease my stress.
