Hello, I'm checking if lowering the voltage on your i9-9880H would cause any problems. Your laptop has a 5VY11AV power supply, 16GB RAM, and an SSD. You're using it for Apex Legends and design work, with no video rendering yet but plans to learn that soon.

It becomes quicker when using lower voltage, you don't need to adjust it.

Sure! For undervolting, start with a small percentage reduction—around 10-20%. Adjust gradually and listen to your audio quality. Use tools like AVA or custom scripts to fine-tune. Consistency is key, and patience pays off!

I've only observed units handling -200mV or less, though the actual range might span from -200 to -50 depending on each model's behavior, especially considering the varied voltage responses of different CPUs.

The installation failed because the XTU signature verification didn’t pass. The error message indicates a security check was not completed. Regarding ThrottleStop, it’s a tool for managing CPU throttling; you’ll need to consult its documentation or support resources for setup instructions. Let me know if you need further clarification.

In the displayed screen, enable "unlock adjustable voltage" and adjust "offset voltage". Perform the same steps for the CPU cache using the identical offset, just like with the CPU core. If you're up for it, test system agent, iGPU features only when the iGPU is turned on.

You're on -50.8 and no further adjustments are needed. To verify, you can run a test installation or configuration check. The installation issue with Intel XTU suggests exploring alternative tools or contacting support for compatibility guidance.

I observed the laptop was left on for a while before returning, and it shut down. The power settings are set to 'never,' but I’m unsure why it turned off.

Click "ok" to apply these configurations; you can perform stress tests using tools like Prime95, though it won't ensure full stability since the CPU won't operate at maximum speed due to a power cap. Run it for a short period and tweak settings if instability appears.

I lowered the CPU and cache voltage to -50.8, played Apex Legends. The game became stuck and stopped completely. I reset the under-voltage, turned it off, and restarted it—now it worked properly. After 10–15 minutes, temperatures stabilized. At that point, I wasn’t using any cooling pad.
