Chose a fresh title attempt after disappointment with the repackaged Skyrim release. Launched a new game and noticed some enhancements such as the tactical camera, which feels better now. However, texture pop remains an issue. My hardware meets specifications and should handle Dragon Age Inquisition well. Consider upgrading monitor to 144Hz/1440p and adjusting in-game settings according to the GForce Exp panel. What adjustments can I make or disable to lessen texture pop? All drivers are current and game content is fine. Additionally, armor reflections appear water-like.

Expect little improvement after the release. Bioware’s peak is behind them for a while now. You might look at NexusMods for community updates, though I’m not sure Frostbite will be released officially.

I recall the first time I played it—it was terrible. After some improvements, it didn’t change much... almost a year later it was still the same. Even Dragon Age Origins has texture issues for me. When I watch YouTubers playing these games, I don’t see anything comparable. The resolution stays at 1080 or 1440. ??? That’s frustrating. I waited three years for this game because I really love Origins and DA2. Right after launching, I pressed the space bar and was devastated... that’s the pause button! The MMO-style combat fell short. I got so angry I just skipped the main quest and started playing DA O and DA2 again anyway.

The main texture issue I experienced was with an SLI setup where DA:I had a bug that led to noticeable flickering on certain areas. Even though there are discussions about diversity roles in games like DA:I, I still found it to be the better experience overall. I’ve invested a lot of time in Origins and 2, which consistently outperform it. While I recognize the tactical adjustments made to Origins compared to earlier versions, the only notable change was the spacebar now triggering jump, which is standard across PC titles. It would have been easy to tweak that setting if desired, but there seems to be no compelling reason for it.

It seems your SLi is affecting the texture quality. NPCs appear suddenly when you approach, walls look poor, but then they switch to high detail. I thought a driver update fixed these issues last year after release. Maybe disabling SLi would help. I’ve spent over 300 hours in Origins and around 80 in DA2. The lack of glitches compared to WoW, which is the only game I really enjoy, kept me coming back. I paused with spacebar, didn’t jump, set up attacks, then pressed space again for micro-management. When DAI was available, I expected a smoother experience. Not having to manually click R and Lf while watching enemies auto-attack frustrated me from the start. I plan to give it another shot and adapt to what it offers... at first it reminded me too much of Skyrim and that disappointed me.

They claim one thing but act differently. I don’t know precisely when the update came, but it didn’t help me during my SLI setup. You can simply disable it to test.

I plan to test it today. I had one card at release, and Nvidia drivers came out the next day. Then I got SLi on Christmas.

I’ve fixed the NecroThread issue and updated the origin settings. Mass icons now appear on the desktop, and the DA:I effects are working better. The armor shine looks more realistic, though it’s still a bit rough. Turning off SLi made everything run smoothly. It’s a bit frustrating sometimes, but it feels great with just one card running. My thoughts started to clear up—should I toggle SLi on and off for nighttime playthroughs or sell my 970s and buy a single GPU? This game really impressed me at 1440p with just one card. The combat against a 2H warrior is still a bit clunky, but the ranged Rogue worked well in the prologue. Varrick might need to step back a bit.
