Many users have encountered the same limitation where FPS caps at 60 even after downloading games like AC3 for free. This issue appears widespread rather than isolated. You can try adjusting settings or disabling certain options to see if it improves performance. Transferring the game to Steam gives you more control over graphics and overall experience, which Ubisoft often restricts.

It's a play-exclusive release, and regarding the FPS cap, I'm not sure. Why would anyone care about 60 FPS when it's already a solid frame rate? Unless it's a title like CS:GO, the concern is understandable.

The limit is likely managed by the game or background settings (like GeForce Experience or AMD's features), so UPlay probably isn't affecting it. For most setups, a high refresh rate isn't necessary—60 fps should suffice unless you're using a very expensive monitor.

It's really a source of pride to just join the PC Master community, especially since this is my first big game outside of League of Legends and Minecraft. I was excited to see that impressive FPS score!

Check if Vsync is enabled in Uplay settings and disable it if needed.

Vsync could appear in the game's video options instead of the Uplay client. Alternatively, in Explorer, navigate to Documents, then Assassin III, and check for the Vsync=1 line before switching it to Vsync=0.

It's not during gameplay that everything comes together—resolution, environment, effects, shadows, and anti-aliasing.

Three files of the Assassin's Creed 3 series exist, with one version launching the same and another ending with SP or MP, likely indicating single and multi-layer configurations.

Confirm location details. The file isn't in the game install directory but within your computer's documents folder. Expected path: Documents/Assassins Creed III/Assassin3.ini
