CPU setup involves a Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a Noctua NH-U12 cooler. The Mobo board is a Gigabyte A320 M-H. I previously overclocked it to around 2667MHz, then applied a BIOS update and it returned to standard settings. It’s likely you enjoy playing Cyberpunk 2077. RAM configuration uses HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) at 2400MHz DDR4 (HX424C15FB2K2/16).
Overclocking RAM isn't usually worthwhile unless you're targeting extremely high frequencies, where improvements tend to be minimal—often just a few percent. On that A320 platform, memory overclocking has significant restrictions. The key factors affecting performance between Ryzen and memory are single-rank versus dual-rank configurations, with dual-rank offering better results. If you'd like more details, feel free to ask.
It's a fair situation, but there are just two spots available. I've got two 8GB RAM sticks installed.
The setup with two slots and both being filled doesn’t automatically indicate a dual-rank configuration. RAM sticks are typically single-rank unless specified otherwise, and running two of them doesn’t equate to dual rank. Take a look at the video I mentioned in the earlier post—it covers this topic in detail.
At 2933Mhz is it secure to raise the voltage to 1.2 to 1.5? It's currently set to 1.2v.
