I find it frustrating using a switch pro controller on my PC for the new Ori game on Steam. The default controls in the game switch to the B button and map abilities to A, X, and Y, which follows the Xbox style. The issue lies in how menu options are handled—B is set as accept for everything while A triggers cancellation or back navigation. I’d like to retain the B jump function since it feels more natural to use the bottom button as a jump. However, having B and A swapped for menus is causing irritation. While Steam’s controller setup UI lets you remap buttons, it doesn’t fully resolve this problem; changing it would just reverse the jump button to the right. I’ve looked online for fixes using XInput, but since switch pro controllers only support DirectInput, there aren’t many alternatives. I’ve played roughly half the game with this navigation quirk, and it’s gradually becoming annoying. If anyone has suggestions, I’d appreciate hearing them.
