That sounds intriguing. I haven't encountered this approach before, so I'll give it a shot (likely tomorrow) and share my thoughts.

Unfortunately, the second monitor isn't behaving as expected—it automatically switches to 1920x1080 even though I'm setting up the display, and Windows continues to adjust the window size.

The aim of this guide is to match the placeholder settings with your monitor configurations. I believe the keys PrimSurfSize.cx and .cy along with Position.cx and .cy position the monitors relative to one another. You can review these values and adjust them as required, just make sure to save before they caused issues with the reorganization of windows and sizes. Still, I’d like to eliminate the entire deep sleep mode, though that seems unlikely.

Don't stress... it took more than six years for Microsoft to fix the issue: https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/28/22407...directx-12

Sorry for reviving this very ancient thread... Posting because I'm having the exact same issue as OP. My setup is - 1st monitor: 57" Odyssey Neo G9 connected via Display Port. HWiNFO monitor name (manufacturer): Odyssey G95NC - 2nd monitor: 27" Odyssey G3 G30D FHD 180Hz via HDMI. HWiNFO monitor name (manufacturer): LS27DG30X - Video card is EVGA's NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 XC3 BLACK GAMING (GA102-202 LHR). It supports DP 1.4, so I set the Neo G9 to DP 1.4 as I was having issues with the monitor being set to DP 2.1 as the video card was not recognizing the monitor after I revived it from sleep. Mostly I wanted to let the internet know that 1) this issue still exists in Windows 10, OS build 19045.5371. And 2) It seems the Rapid Hot Plug Detect (Rapid HPD) fix linked above may only be available in Windows 11 or the Preview Experience Program. I found this https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...112339e996 and two posts in there, one from a Microsoft moderate seem to indicate upgrading to Win11 may be the true fix here. So... looks like I'm due for installing Windows 11 this year to confirm the veracity of that user report... and then there's the fact that Microsoft is ending windows security updates for Win10 this October. Anyway, thanks @CorneliousJD for posting about this and @RainfallWithin for mentioning the FancyZones feature in PowerToys!!
