Hey there, everyone. I hope you're all okay during these unusual times. I'm looking for some advice—can someone assist me? Right now I'm running a Proxmox server with two Xeon E5-2680 v2 processors, 256GB of RAM, and ample storage space. I also have FREENAS installed on the same machine, and I'm using "disk by-id" to access the disks directly through the HBA. Everything seems fine, but I'm trying to switch from disk IDs to just passing through the PCI-e card. When I attempt that, it shows up as nothing. What should I do? Also, what are the benefits of using a PCI-e device instead of loose drives? Does it help with stability for my storage arrays? And does it resolve any hotplug issues on my drive bays? Thanks a lot!
