Most 3600’s operate smoothly at around 4.2ghz with a core voltage of 1.25v, keeping temperatures low—typically around 50°C max and 55°C max during CPU-heavy tests like AIDA or CB. Prime 95 behaves differently; regardless of cooler or paste used, stress tests often climb to about 75°C, making it unsuitable for everyday gaming.

I'm mainly interested in the temperatures during regular tasks on the PC. Benchmark results are meant to represent worst-case situations, which usually don't apply to everyday use unless something goes wrong. Often I stay below 60 degrees, around 50 to 55. I can manually overclock the CPU, but it tends to give me negative experiences, so I don't see it as a safe bet unless you're experienced. Overclocking too much can lead to the screen going black or the system failing to start.

I own a 3600 recently purchased last month. It was overclocked to 4.4Ghz at 1.3Vcore, and the Arctic Freezer 34 keeps temperatures near 80°C under full load. Cinebench score sits around 3988, within acceptable range, and background processes occasionally push it past 4000. Blender classrom and BMW render max out at 79°C with an average of 77°C. Core voltage fluctuates between 1.269 and 1.294V, with a stable 1.3V core. I've experimented with 4.5Ghz at various voltages, but Cinebench and Prime95 kept crashing despite the system staying responsive. I have limited overclocking experience, so I stuck with the configuration that didn't cause crashes. 4.4Ghz at 1.3V works reliably across all cores in Ryzen Master.

I don't see the need to overclock a Ryzen CPU like the 3600 unless you're just curious. The gains are minimal and could even hurt performance. You wonder how many frames per second you actually improved? It's hard to know without testing. How do you turn it on? I checked my BIOS but didn't find anything—maybe the settings are hidden or outdated (the BIOS is also pretty bad, MSI "lite").
