Yeah 4 passes will take quite amount of time, I don't remember... I haven't run it in years. Set it to 4 passes and let it run for atleast a single pass first. When you are where you want to be with your OC let it run the 4 passes and set it to run 4 more passes if it didn't take 8 hours or more. Repeat the process until you have run it long enough. The point is to heat the RAM up and stress it continuously and see if it spits out any errors during this process.
With time you'll notice which memtest86 versions cause the most issues. For quick stability checks between adjustments, run just a few cycles of those tests. According to what I recall, tests 5, 6, and 7 were most problematic during RAM testing, so I repeated them multiple times while tweaking. Once you feel confident with solid numbers or want a reliable baseline, perform four passes of all tests at least twice. Running Prime95 and HCI Design memtest can also help ensure your results are consistent.
If you locate version 8.0, a flaw exists enabling the free edition to perform as many iterations as desired. It was a highly useful feature for me.
I've been using the "Memory Try It" with the 2933Mhz configuration. I'm running memtest86 for the second time and have completed the third pass so far—no issues detected. This seems promising. After this, I intend to test Prime95.
A positive sign here. Stay careful during your stability tests. Some configurations seemed fine at first but failed later. A single odd issue can disrupt your operating system. Best of luck!
I'm running stress tests on the current configuration of 3000Mhz with timing settings 16 18 18 18. Memtest 8 completed successfully in 8 hours 38 minutes with no issues. Prime95 was tested for 2 hours at 60% load without errors. The DRAM Calculator for Ryzen also showed clean results at 60%. I'll keep monitoring and update if everything stays stable.
