Hi, your Ryzen 7 7700X is running at higher clock speeds than usual when idle, and temperatures are elevated. You're using a High Performance power plan with the minimum CPU state at 0%, but you're concerned about downclocking to avoid overheating. With an MSI BIOS, you can check or adjust power management settings to ensure the CPU automatically reduces its frequency under certain conditions.

Clock speed measurement methods vary. Use Ryzen Master or HWiNFO's effective clockspeed feature for accurate results. Task Manager doesn't provide reliable data under different loads.

Yes, at 300MHz clockspeed, 45°C performance is indeed a concern.

The temperatures are perfectly acceptable during idle mode.

This plan is designed to keep the CPU running at its highest possible frequency. It stops the processor from lowering its clock speed unnecessarily, even when a slower setting would be sufficient. Modern chips can adjust their speed in tiny increments, so maintaining maximum isn’t beneficial.

Normal for Ryzen, the temperature depends on many elements beyond just clock speed.
