My computer consists of an Intel i7-4790k processor running at 4.6GHz, an NVIDIA RTX 2070 graphics card, and 16GB of DDR3 RAM with a speed of 1600 MHz. However, within one particular game, *The Forest*, I experience notably poor performance on the maximum settings, achieving only approximately 80 frames per second. Conversely, a friend who has a similar RTX 2070 but utilizes an AMD processor and 3200MHz RAM is able to attain over 100 fps in the same game under identical configurations.

Indeed, Ryzen processors significantly depend on memory with a quicker clock speed. A faster RAM kit does offer a noticeable improvement, although I’m uncertain if it’s the sole factor contributing to your friend’s elevated frame rates.
UPDATE: Apologies… If he is utilizing a different AMD processor, then the previous RAM frequency explanation will not be accurate. You hadn't specified his particular AMD CPU model.

Indeed, Ryzen processors significantly depend on memory with a quicker clock speed. A higher-frequency RAM kit does provide a noticeable impact, although I’m uncertain if this is the sole factor contributing to your friend’s elevated frame rates.
UPDATE: Apologies… If he's utilizing a different AMD processor variant, then the preceding RAM frequency explanation wouldn’t be relevant. You hadn’t specified his particular AMD CPU model.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the performance like for other personal computer games on your system? Have you attempted to play graphically intensive titles? What specific power supply unit are you using? Perhaps “The Forest” is a game that hasn't been properly optimized?

Other games typically function as anticipated, and I was curious about his significantly improved performance despite my superior hardware specifications across most categories, with the exception of RAM.

The woodland area remains somewhat inefficient. Sixty frames per second appears to be accurate when all settings are maximized. What type of storage device do you possess—a traditional mechanical hard drive or a solid-state drive?
