Following the construction of my latest computer system, I’ve encountered a recurring problem with certain video games. These predominantly involve expansive, survival-focused open worlds. Specifically, launching Rust often takes between 5 and 10 minutes before I can join, sometimes extending to nearly an hour. Upon entering, performance is sluggish, characterized by stuttering and freezing for approximately one minute. Once stabilized, the game operates smoothly at over 60 frames per second; however, movement causes a significant drop in frame rates, typically ranging from 1 to 10, or occasionally resulting in complete freezes until I cease moving. This issue also manifests with ARK: Survival Evolved, though the stuttering is noticeably more pronounced. Unlike other games like Dark Souls 3 and massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars, these titles don't exhibit this behavior. My hardware specifications are as follows: CPU: i3 8100; GPU: RX 580; RAM: 2x8 GB; Storage: 1TB HDD. I utilize MSI Afterburner to monitor system performance during gameplay, and I’ve found no evidence of CPU overheating or instability when the stuttering occurs.

Keep an eye on your RAM and GPU as well. Perhaps your hard drive is failing, or your memory is faulty. Test and observe everything thoroughly.
