Addressing printing challenges on waterproof paper
I was instructed to print my own image. They recommended using "Kulit Jeruk" paper, which is waterproof and designed to make photos more durable. At home I own an Epson L360 printer. The printed result looked unusual: the photo on the right matches expectations, while the left one appeared damaged. I have other photo papers at home that I purchased, but I’m unsure of their type since they’re usually sold without packaging. The generic ones work fine, whereas the waterproof version seems problematic. I suspect the ink didn’t adhere properly to the paper, causing it to remain damp even after hours of handling. No one knows what went wrong? Could my printer settings be incorrect, or is a special ink required? I’ve already considered giving up and going to a professional service, but I’d appreciate any advice you can offer. These papers are costly, so reusing them would be a waste.
I’m not very familiar with waterproof paper, but from what I know about printers, you’d likely need a laser printer since they work by depositing and fusing toner onto the surface. Ink printers, on the other hand, rely on ink soaking into the paper, which might not be possible with waterproof material.
