Additional units that assist in processing tasks.
I was browsing Facebook and noticed an advertisement for the Facebook Marketplace. One item suggested a Xeon Phi coprocessor. Since I wasn’t familiar with them, I decided to look them up. They connect via PCIe and appear to be a secondary processor meant for handling complex math tasks. The goal is to pair them with CAD programs or computational tools. Naturally, I wondered—are they related to video games? Or are they intended only for certain applications? Do people have experience using or owning these devices?
It serves particular tasks like quickly starting windows due to its simple architecture, though speed remains poor. Designed for parallel processing with multiple independent operations, it's not optimized for graphics or heavy computation.
