After rebooting Windows, an additional mouse cursor appeared in the top-left corner. It doesn’t respond to any input and just copies the real cursor. No one knows how to remove it, and taking a screenshot doesn’t help since both disappear. This issue is occurring on Windows 8.1.

Could it be a ghost mouse?

Is this on your background maybe? It seems odd.

It isn't my wallpaper; it shows identical content as the actual mouse cursor. When I type, it appears as if the 'I' cursor is there.

I understand reinstalling the OS would remove it, but it seems like a lot of effort for just that.

Reinstalling the OS would be a hassle just to eliminate this issue. I don’t know what’s happening or why it’s occurring.

A second mouse wouldn't trigger a new cursor, and I've tried those tools before but they never caused this issue.
