I'm trying to restrict who can access this shared folder to just a few specific machines. The remaining PCs aren't appearing in the available locations for selection. I need guidance on adding them to the whitelist. All devices are currently part of the default WORKGROUP, and each has private network settings.

Usually you don't restrict entry through machines, but via individuals, assigning just the right access rights for each person.

Sure, you can use a shared directory or a service that allows cross-device access to display users.

Unless you're part of a domain, you're not. You must create user accounts on the PC acting as the file server and then log in using those credentials.

This approach replaces using the main user password for each person with generating a unique login for every individual. Appreciated!
