Hello everyone! I have a query about increasing my PC's memory capacity. My setup: Asus X570 TUF gaming plus Ryzen 9 3900X T-Force Xtreem 32GB (2x16 kit) @3600 Mhz RTX 2070 super Samsung 980 pro Everything functions properly, but with intensive 3D rendering tasks, the 32GB RAM reaches 95-100% usage. The installed RAM is placed in A2 and B2 slots on the MBO. If I change them to A1 and B1, enabling D.O.C.P. causes the system to crash. According to the manual, this is the only method to use dual-channel memory. Now, if I add more RAM (same kit) and install it in A1 and B1 slots with D.O.C.P. activated, will it still work? Thanks!
Shut it down, check if the crash halts. Keep in mind your RAM performance will drop when using four sticks.
You're missing four sticks right now, just one pair. You're thinking about purchasing two more. If you use four sticks, the DOCP should stay off. Four sticks are suitable only at 2400Mhz.

As mentioned earlier, the manual specifies using slots A2 and B2 for D.O.C.P. and dual channel support. I attempted to use A1 and B1 with only two sticks, but the system crashes when I enable D.O.C.P. Here’s a summary:
- Scenario 1: Tested A1 - 16GB A2 - empty B1 - 16GB B2 - empty D.O.C.P. → System crashes on D.O.C.P., then works.
- Scenario 2: Tested A1 - empty A2 - 16GB B1 - empty B2 - 16GB D.O.C.P. → System fine.
- Scenario 3: My issue (unable to test)

ehh, it should work... your testing with just one kit wasn't really necessary though... the thing is with 4 sticks, it might or might not work, there's no guarantee whatsoever, if you look at it closely it always says "up to" at no point the board manufacturer guarantees you a certain speed above jdec... ram manufacturers might, but they probably also wouldn't have an issue proving that the ram indeed run at this speed, with the right board and settings... tldr, you just have to try it i guess.
