Adding additional RAM sticks
Adding additional RAM sticks
Hi everyone, I have two 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz Corsair Vengeneance RGB Pro sticks and was thinking about adding another pair to reach 32GB total. Would I encounter any problems if I power off, insert the second set into the first and third slots (covering all four slots), and then restart? Also, I have XMP enabled at full speeds. My specs are a 3900x, 2060 Super, and a Gigabyte X570 AORUS board. Any advice on whether this setup would be safe given my current load—many tabs, apps, and a game?
Thank you for your feedback. I’ll ensure the XMP profile is applied and voltages are set correctly for all sticks. I’ll verify everything matches the current configuration once it’s done.
Absolutely, I'm confident it will handle the XMP process for you.
I already have two 8GB drives, but I didn’t realize I’d need 32GB. It doesn’t seem practical to buy two 16GB sticks right now; I’d just go for another set of two 8GB drives. I’m still unsure if having four drives is more reliable or might conflict with my AMD CPU, as some forums have mentioned potential issues.
