You're investigating whether a recent change—specifically a registry defragmentation—helped resolve your stuttering issues. It's worth checking if the defrag actually addressed the root cause, as it could have improved system performance and stability. If the problem persists after the defrag, continue testing with other settings or consider further troubleshooting steps.

Keep pushing for more information. If it persists, continue investigating. Otherwise, issue resolved.

First, avoid handling the registry or running any basic registry repair tools. These won't solve anything and could actually harm your system.

Registry cleanup is performed by specific programs you've added. It's not a standard Windows task. To help resolve the problem, we need more details about your situation and system.

Driver Booster isn't great; spending money on it doesn't seem worthwhile. ASC works fine, so you can keep using it. Just disable any automatic registry fixes. I've already paid for ASC, but now I'm not seeing much difference. I still pay for Smart Defrag because it's the quickest defrag I've tried.

Sleep issues often stem from RAM, pagefile, and drive problems—especially when switching between sleep and hibernation. During sleep, data moves to the pagefile and then back to RAM. A soft restart clears these, resolving the problem.

Are there any suitable programs or command-line options you can use to verify it? You mentioned you don’t have a spare DDR3 to swap in.

You can turn off hibernation as well—should we verify if the problem lies with RAM or HDD?

I don't believe the problem is related to hardware RAM. It could simply be due to insufficient RAM or a small pagefile. Factors like drive read/write speeds (especially if your hibernation file is on an HDD) might also play a role. To confirm it's not a RAM issue, use Memtest86 and run it for at least 12 hours for accurate results.
