Adaptive VSync versus standard VSync – here’s the answer to your question.
Hello everyone, I've been considering this for a while. Should I stick with normal Vsync or try adaptive Vsync? My setup includes a 39-inch TV at 60Hz and a 4K DSR monitor whenever possible. I mainly play Diablo III but sometimes experience tearing even with my current specs. I'm currently using adaptive Vsync because many people say it works better. What settings are you using, and what advice would you give? Thanks!
Adaptive-Vsync and Dynamic-Vsync perform better than standard Vsync according to my view.
i haven't tried adaptive vsync, but i stick with normal vsync since it handles tearing smoothly for me. i only use it in d3 because the engine needs it to avoid awkward skipping animations that happen when vsync is off. the laggy mouse movement with vsync is a real issue for me, and i prefer g-sync instead, which removes that problem completely. people often mention adaptive vsync, but they usually mean g-sync, which definitely cuts down on lag.
It's true, I'm able to use standard in-game Vsync, but even with my current configuration it still causes tearing, which bothers me a lot.
It seems like you're experiencing increased lag with adaptive features compared to regular performance.
Does it drop under 60? If yes, the signal gets ruined entirely.
I mainly play Diablo and experience it smoothly, with VSync working perfectly. Sometimes it slows down to just a few frames for a moment, but I quickly recover at around 60fps.
