You're dealing with a tricky situation involving an old soundcard and a non-express PCI format. It seems the adapter you used previously only worked on certain ports, not all. On your current setup, the bridge isn't being recognized at all, even when plugged into any port. The motherboard is an MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk Wifi, and the bridge is a Pericom model. You've tried various configurations—different PCIe ports, BIOS settings, enabling ARI and IO-SRV—but nothing shows up in the system. Could be hardware mismatch or outdated firmware. Consider checking the bridge's documentation for compatibility with your exact motherboard model or reaching out to Pericom support for guidance.

No, it isn't visible in bios. Edit: What was your previous board?

The previous board was an ASRock X570 Steel Legend. The BIOS doesn’t mention PCIE devices clearly, so it’s unclear if the motherboard recognizes it. I’ve heard from some niche forums that Pericom PI7C9X bridges can cause issues with AMD systems and are usually visible only when connected to the GPU slot. I might need to switch to another adapter using a different chip like PLX or ASMedia.
