Adapter for KVM switch usage must be utilized.
Hello fellow esteemed members;
I am considering using the DGORDT KS602 2-Port KVM Switch.
My host computer has a DisplayPort connector, but the switch only accepts HDMI inputs. I am unsure whether a passive or active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter is required.
I need to connect my host computer to the switch.
I appreciate the helpful details you provided. The KVM switch's cable is designed to connect a host computer, featuring a splitter with two connectors: a male USB type-A and a male HDMI. The other end of the cable uses a male HDMI to complete the connection. According to the ProBook 640 G1's specifications on HP's website, its native DisplayPort connector supports dual-mode. I was thinking about buying a male DisplayPort-to-female HDMI adapter from StarTech (link provided) to link the splitter cable's male HDMI end to the adapter's female port and connect the laptop's male DisplayPort to its female port. Would this solution work for your needs?
