I believe you can fit your MT version motherboard into a regular ATX case. Now you're searching for the front I/O panel connectors, which aren't available yet. You're hoping to find affordable options, and the ones you've seen cost around 30 CAD.

Perhaps it’s uncertain. I’m not sure if the motherboard slots will match. OEM prebuilt units usually have unique header connectors. Adaptors are available on sites like AliBaba sometimes, but not always. It varies by model. Without knowing the exact version, it’s hard to give reliable advice. A price of $30 seems low for a computer-related product.

Check out this discussion: Their board is confirmed to fit well in a standard microATX case. A few headers are a bit bothersome.

Also known for having cables that are frequently too short. Could require a new power supply since the original ones won't fit. HP offers several unique proprietary header connectors, and I’m not confident they’ll match the pinout across all models.

The term "their" refers to the OptiPlex series, and stating they are all hole compatible with microATX means every model fits within that standard.

Aha. 7010 makes things easier. It’s one of the milder options. Still there are multiple cases and models, yet they all seem to share the same motherboard. The CPU cooler could be a problem or not. Apparently SFF models have a ducted fan that expels air from behind. I’m guessing the original question was about whether a $30 deal on an adapter was worth it. This might just be about expensive specialty parts. Is $30 unreasonable for an adapter? Probably. There might be few left in circulation now. I’d be inclined to pay the full price myself, even though it likely cost less to produce, because it’s better than nothing. A connection can be achieved without one, but it often becomes a hassle. It turns into a decision about how valuable your time is. Edited August 5, 2022 by Bombastinator
