Today I've noticed my Minecraft online performance dropping to very low frames—sometimes just 1 to 40fps. Normally I run smoothly at around 120fps. I haven't adjusted any settings, the graphics are fast, render distance is set to 16, and I'm using a 128x texture pack with OptiFine Specs in SIG. Anyone have an idea why this is happening? I've restarted my PC and nothing else is running except Skype and CPUIDHWmonitor.

I don't have a FPS on other servers or in single-player mode.

The amount of RAM allocated for Minecraft can vary depending on the version and settings, but it typically uses around 2GB to 4GB of system memory.

Similar outcomes around 1GB yet unclear why it wouldn’t impact performance because it’s consistently functioned well at 120fps.

Wow, that’s really funny. It brings back memories of getting my first laptop at ten years old.
