Details: CPU model Intel i7-10700K, motherboard Gigabyte Aorus Z490 Elite, RAM configuration 2×16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200. Current performance caps at 2133 MHz due to BIOS restrictions. XMP activation causes repeated boot loops and BIOS warnings. Experiences: tried enabling XMP, adjusting timings/voltages, resetting CMOS, and reapplying settings. All attempts resulted in the same looping issue. Seeking advice on resolving this on Z490 Aorus Elite—possibly BIOS version F25a, CPU IMC, or RAM compatibility problems. Need guidance to reach 3200 MHz.
According to official information, the i7 10700K is limited to DDR4-2933 memory. While older Intel chips often had controllers for much higher speeds, it's conceivable your unit only met the minimum requirement. If you turn on XMP and set the speed to 2933, will it start up correctly?
Apologies for the delayed reply. Yes, enabling XMP and adjusting the memory speed to 2933 MHz allows normal booting. I’m trying to figure out why my i7-10700K doesn’t support DDR4 at 3200 MHz. I’ve noticed others can run DDR4 up to 3600 MHz on the same Intel i7-10700K, so it might be related to the motherboard configuration or a specific setup detail.
