Has anyone encountered this before? I’m an IT Administrator and the only person dealing with it is the company owner, who’s finding Microsoft support extremely unhelpful. The link points to a forum where others discuss the same problem, but Windows hasn’t addressed it. The suggested workaround is switching to a secondary screen temporarily, which provides a short-term fix before the issue resurfaces. I’ve tried all the recommended steps—upgrading hardware, changing graphics card, switching to a different motherboard, adding RAM, using a non-Intel processor—but nothing has worked. If anyone has insights or alternative solutions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you attempted to reinstall the latest Windows update? Have you tried updating the dedicated graphics driver as well? If those steps didn’t help, try installing a different browser on your boss’s system (at least until the issue is resolved).

Thanks for the update. It seems unrelated to browser problems—this occurs when accessing files or folders on PC or the network. It happened after a fresh installation of his profile, including documents and pictures, which were then copied back to the PC. A new install was performed on the new machine, and the APP and programs were reinstalled. After roughly a month, the issue resumed. The PC is fully updated with drivers, has the dedicated graphics card driver, BIOS is current, and runs the latest Windows 10 version. Among about 400 devices, this is the only one affected. I suspect a single program might be causing the bug, but I’m unsure which one or how to test it. I spend a lot of time troubleshooting, relying on programs unique to him, which is a lengthy process. I’m hoping to connect with others who might have encountered this or offer advice.

I can't display or send screenshots directly. However, I can describe what you're seeing or guide you on how to capture it yourself.

The image attached appears gray, but its color shifts between white and gray based on the detected faults.

The annoying issue occurs when you tap where you believe the X appears in the top-right corner; it will close programs or files in the background because it has lost focus. You can bring it back to the desktop using the Show Desktop button, but once you maximize it, it remains the same.

Check if the Intel built-in graphics address your problem.

Used the Intel on board, Ge-Force GT710, AMD (memory unclear) and the problem persists. I believe the software is responsible rather than the graphics card. I’ve reinstalled the graphics cards with a fresh Windows PC, which works until we add everything back in as needed. He also had two different monitor sizes; we standardized them, but the issue remains. According to an email from someone on another forum, this should resolve it. I’ve returned him to his original setup as he prefers.

It seems you're asking about whether the problem started with the driver or after installing software. Clarify if you'd like help checking for driver-related issues or troubleshooting steps.

This common problem affects Windows 10 users with dual monitors. It doesn't depend on any particular hardware or driver updates. Check the discussion here on Microsoft's forum: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...a94?page=9
