This acetone solution might be suitable for removing thermal paste from your CPU die or IHS, but ensure proper ventilation and use protective gear. Always verify compatibility with your components before applying.

Acetone can break down any plastic it touches. Use with extreme caution—it might also melt a CPU circuit board.

You’ll want to double-check the instructions for both thermal paste and PCBs. Using a dedicated cleaner helps avoid residue, but always confirm compatibility with your components.

The CPU socket is constructed from plastic material. Even exposure to acetone vapor could cause it to soften, though it might only affect certain plastics like ABS. I wouldn't recommend using it under those conditions.

Honestly, just grab a paper tissue and put in some effort—it usually gets you most of the way.

ISA is isopropyl alcohol, available at most drug stores. Methyl hydrate from a hardware shop or even in vodka can be used, it won’t leave any residue that impacts cooling.
