Hey! Your friend's Acer Predator Helius 300 seems to be struggling with overheating and significant FPS drops in games like Fortnite, CS:GO, and ARK. The performance issues are affecting gameplay more than the heat itself. Besides updating to a fresh Windows 10 install, you might want to check cooling solutions or consider a cooler with better airflow. Also, ensure the GPU drivers are up to date and try adjusting in-game settings for better performance. Let me know if you need more tips!

Reduced quality and visual options due to overheating. Thermal throttling occurs, causing performance to drop to maintain cooler temperatures. Lower graphics and resolution settings mean the system operates less intensely.

he’s doing something unusual at 200fps, but it should be at 60fps. My old 7567 1050ti could handle it smoothly at 1080p with 60hz (and higher settings), but I limited the frame rate. My current 1440p setup at 60hz also works well, though I kept the frame rate in check.

That's something you're not familiar with yet, right? It's also important to recognize he should be more aware that low frame rates can affect performance. Even if he uses a laptop, it might not be ideal for smooth gameplay. I'm not sure if he really thinks about that.

In competitive games they are ready to sacrifice graphics quality, both to boost every frame rate and to remove all distractions that could break focus.
