I began setting up a Steam account using my Gmail for confirmation. I mistakenly closed the main window, leaving only the verification screen open. Now, each time I restart from scratch, the message appears: "Email has already been verified, please return to account creation window." This isn’t present. The resend option still shows that your email wasn’t verified. Need help resolving this?
You should be able to log in now after confirming it, no need to restart.
If no username or password was set up, you can simply restart by creating a new account. They will send a request to the same email address for verification.
