UAC has limitations, but it's simpler to run privesc with an admin account plus a regular user. It should work well for everyday tasks.

When you configure your account without installation privileges, direct installs won't occur since you lack admin access. Combine this with browser ad-blockers and you'll be safe from unwanted installations.
