Checking into someone else's Microsoft account to download an app may flag it under "Accounts used by other apps." This could potentially allow the owner to modify your settings or install additional software without your knowledge. Using your personal high school email for Office 365 activation is generally safe, but ensure you understand the implications of sharing credentials. Be cautious about any unexpected changes to your system.

After adding an account, you can download any apps, games, or movie rentals until it’s removed. Based on your settings, purchases can be made using your account—such as enabling “buy without a password” in the Store app settings. It’s recommended to delete your account if you’re not comfortable with the user. When creating an account, you can select whether to add it for all items or just specific apps; choosing just the app is fine. Keep in mind that items saved in OneDrive link back to your account rather than the school account, which may be removed after graduation or policy changes. Similarly, content stored in your school’s OneDrive could appear on your high school computers and might follow school rules, even if it’s hosted on the MS server via the school email. The same rule applies to the school email address provided.
