Accidents involving drivers are becoming more frequent.
Windows 10 64 bit CPU: i7 4790 GPU: RX580 PSU: 600W Motherboard: Old Intel model with limited BIOS tweaks Memory: DDR3 16GB 1600MHZ AMD Drivers Version: 24.9.1 (latest) I encountered a situation where fans spin wildly during games like Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, which seems to overcool the system. Sometimes even simple games such as Roblox cause driver crashes and excessive fan activity. In the Device Manager I don’t see RX580 listed under display adapters, and I had to disconnect and reconnect my PC to play at all. This issue has persisted for several months, and I’m unsure if it’s due to drivers or the GPU. Two of my friends have the same GPU but not the same problems, while I have a Ryzen 5 5600G with RX580, DDR4 16GB at 2133MHZ and 600W. Could anyone offer advice or clarify? Thank you.
It's often caused by an issue with AMD drivers or a recent Windows update. A simple solution is to use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove your existing drivers and then install the official ones. Reinstalling Windows might be an option, but I'm uncertain if it's worth the effort right now. Good luck!
I have strong doubts about it being related to AMD drivers. My friend with the same issue doesn’t seem to be affected, and I’ve reinstalled Windows several times due to other problems, yet it continues. Could there be another cause? Thanks.
The most recent time you adjusted that card and reused it came before your current session. I noticed similar problems earlier when temperatures rose too high, affecting performance.
Ensure you install the newest Intel chipset drivers as well; if they're corrupted, no other driver will really work smoothly.
We can dismiss corrupted files if you've reinstalled Windows several times already. I've noticed similar problems with Nvidia cards where the latest drivers suddenly stop supporting older models. The solution was to obtain previous versions of the drivers. For AMD, you can locate earlier RX580 drivers here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads...x-580.html Because the RX580 is an older design, the drivers likely offered little to no improvement over the past few years. Feel free to use drivers from 2020 if necessary. Regarding AMD Adrenalin, it's possible the software wouldn't accept an older driver. If you can install the AMD driver without Adrenalin, that might be a better option. You can always rely on MSI Afterburner for fine-tuning your GPU settings. As for the 5600G, it seems Windows handles things unpredictably... My best estimate is that a processor with an AMD integrated graphics unit could help smooth any driver-related issues. Good luck!
I recall from late 2021 I didn’t experience these problems; they weren’t there when playing Roblox in 2022. Games such as God of War or Spider Man Remastered caused issues if I cranked my graphics settings too high, likely because fans were trying to keep the system cool. I plan to download drivers from 2020-2021 and try again. Please let me know. Edit: I downloaded a driver from 2021 so we can check the results. Edit 2: Still crashing—will re-upload it and test with 2021 drivers. If that fails, switching to 2020 drivers might help. If all else fails, getting an Intel GPU or an NVIDIA one could be a good option.
If you have the budget, the new Intel b580 appears to offer great value at its listed price. Be cautious of quick sellers. It outperforms the 4060 and includes 12 GB of VRAM. For your AMD graphics card, consider adjusting the power limits in the software or afterburner to prevent overheating. The rx580 supports up to -30% (or 70%) power settings, which may slightly reduce performance but avoids crashes. Enjoy your day!
