Accidentally Uninstalled Steam
I ran out of space on my system, so I moved all my Steam data and games to a second hard drive. After deleting everything from the first drive, I noticed some files weren't copied. When I tried to open Warframe, it didn't work. I was downloading Destiny 2 at that time. I had 67 or 83 GB of storage left. All my games remain on my desktop, and I'm now reinstalling Steam. Will the progress from Destiny 2 be lost? And will I need to reinstall everything?
using steam copy isn't functioning, you should transfer the file directly through the steam client.
Usually yes, or perhaps you'll be lucky. I've done the same when switching to an SSD; all the game files were there, but I still had to reinstall them.
You can access Steam (in the top left) > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders. There you should choose the folders where your games are installed (or where you relocated them) and it will recognize them, which means you won't need to reinstall them.
Usually, if you wish to transfer a Steam game from one place to another, it's advisable to do it directly within Steam (right click on the game > Properties > Local Files > Move Install Folder) to ensure all files are moved properly and there are no remnants that might cause issues with the game running.
To save all games, including those you're currently downloading, it's important to back up your Steam apps folder.
