Accessing a domain account on Windows Server involves proper configuration and authentication steps.
Hello! I'm attempting to access a domain account that I've set up on Windows Server. When I use 'Other users' and enter the username and password, the system responds with an error: "The sign-in method you're trying to use isn't allowed. For more info, contact your network administrator." Keep in mind that I'm the network administrator.
Is the server linked to the domain? Are you entering the right domain for the user? Which Windows Server version is being used? What operating system is installed on the client device?
Check if DNS is configured properly. When you ping the domain on the system, what response do you receive? I will discontinue using beta software to eliminate this as a factor.
I didn't configure a DNS and I'm also downloading WINSERV 2012 R2.
The system responding to pings is identified. You want to ensure the IP addresses remain visible without hiding them. These appear to be local networks, so hiding them isn't necessary. The DNS servers might serve as the domain controller. Consider updating to Windows 2019 for a more stable server environment.
Retrying the download from Microsoft. Which devices are being installed? Is the domain controller running on that system? Do other machines connect successfully?
