Access your Windows virtual machine from another room on your PC.
Hi, I've noticed my dad has been complaining about his slow computer. It seems I have a faster one in my room, and I'd like to share some of its speed with him. I was considering setting up a Windows VM on my computer and letting him access it from his PC in another room. Is it possible to achieve this by connecting the two computers with an Ethernet cable? I hope this explanation is clear enough for you. P.S. My internet speed is quite slow—around 6Mbps—so having an online PC like a shadow isn't feasible. Thanks for your help!
The details are available. You can upgrade a slow system quickly and affordably.
I believe providing him with sufficient power from my I7 8700K would make it quicker than his setup
When creating a new Virtual Machine in Virtual Box, you can choose the number of CPU cores, RAM, and storage space it uses. Try it out and compare its speed to your dad's computer. Keep in mind, this configuration isn't ideal for gaming because of the lag from remote access.
He doesn't engage in gaming, he mainly handles office tasks without any further responsibilities.
You can buy a 128GB SSD for around £15. Pair it with a fresh Windows installation and you’ll have top speed for everyday use. To boost performance, turn off unnecessary startup programs. Remote access will remain via your internet connection rather than direct methods—this isn’t feasible and would be impractical.
Create a second account and implement a minor modification to enable remote desktop access without logging out the current user. Details available at the provided link: https://www.mysysadmintips.com/windows/c...windows-10
