About a week back my Windows 10 store stopped functioning. It displays "Store can't open; contact admin to fix or reinstall." I haven’t activated Windows yet because I wanted to wait a month to see how all my programs would work. This problem started around the end of that month. Now other apps I downloaded from the Windows Store are behaving the same way. Is this related to activation? If it is, I’d just try activating and move forward, but if it’s a Windows 10 issue, I’d like to know if there’s a solution.

Thank you for your response. I’m hoping someone might share their thoughts on whether the $200 activation cost is necessary for the issue you’re facing or if it’s probably the main reason.

Windows 10 has a few issues. Some options aren’t working until you activate them. It’s unclear if the store is impacted by these problems. You can also get the Home version for $119, or a Pro version for around $150. The only real advantage of Pro is the ability to postpone non-security updates for up to two weeks. Otherwise, it doesn’t seem like a good deal. Plus, you can connect to an MS domain if you’re into that. Most people don’t run a domain at home. I’ve only ever installed one app so far. Honestly, the Microsoft store offers very little value. I wouldn’t base a purchase on that.
