Access Origin
Access Origin
I just installed Origin and checked out all the sales and updates, but then discovered Origin Access. I’m wondering if paying $30 for the year gives me full access to everything. If something like Battlefield 5 releases, will I still be able to play it once it launches? I’m pretty sure so, but I don’t want to pay extra later if I need another $60 for a different game.
I'm facing a choice. There are three paths ahead. Option 1 is to purchase Origin Access Premium when it launches—around 100 USD per year. This gives me access to all EA titles, including Battlefield V, Anthem, Battlefront 2, Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1, Crysis 3, FIFA, Need for Speed, and more. Option 2 is to buy Origin Access Basic for 30 USD, which grants access to the Vault but delays full access until games like Battlefield V and Battlefront 2 are added. Option 3 is to buy the games directly, taking advantage of their current low prices—maybe around 60-70 dollars total. My concern is which path I should take. I’d prefer Option 1 for its comprehensive value, but it feels like a significant investment. At 15, I’m worried about covering the costs and ensuring I can afford it next year.
Because Origin is the focus, the choices really hinge on how much time you dedicate to gaming. For those with ample time, opting for the larger subscription makes sense—it supports all EA titles. Those with limited availability should consider the cheaper plan, still allowing access to most EA games eventually. Option 3 is ideal for fans who are committed to a single series.
There's approximately a one year lag on popular games... sometimes a bit longer. I bought it last august and I've yet to play a single game thoroughly. I tested our Mass Effect 4, played BF1 for an hour, and that's about it. I still think it's good value if you want to play the games that available at this time.
