I assembled my old Windows 8 laptop and desktop components. When I tried to boot, I encountered an error message: "Windows ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you." It kept looping indefinitely. Could anyone suggest solutions? I have a Windows 10 flash drive but no product key for the older OS. This is for a guest setup only—any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

It displays an error screen, typically indicating a system problem or failure. The exact message varies depending on the software or device.

Windows installation with or without AHCI configured in BIOS, followed by relocation to another PC... ensure it matches the same configuration (or adjust accordingly). Booting from a board that doesn’t support it or lacks it will trigger the BSOD/Error Loop. If required, missing settings prevent startup.

The problem likely stems from incompatibility with the intended hardware. Is it Paragon Adaptive Restore?
