Access denied for another PC in the network.
Reset your Plex machine completely and attempt to grant access from another PC without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. It was functioning perfectly before, but now you receive permission denials like “You do not have permission to access drive Plex.” Both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi; the main PC uses Windows 11 while Plex runs on Windows 10. You’re trying to map a network share and have passwords or file sharing enabled, with sharing turned on for everyone. IPv6 is also disabled. I’m not sure what’s causing the issue. Should I enable Windows activation for file sharing? No clear guidance found online.
I updated a user on the PC and added my email to Advanced Sharing for the drive. Still no luck. It seems the PCs aren't communicating properly, since I can't see them in the devices list. I notice printers and TVs, but Josh can't access Plex, and Plex can't reach Josh. Also, I have several passwords for each PC—one for general login, another for the Microsoft account, and a third for network credentials. Right now I'm really confused. A week ago everything worked fine; I'm struggling to figure out which accounts are supposed to connect to which devices!
Verify the connections are configured as private networks, ensuring shared access stays restricted. The settings seem confusing, so I’m searching for guidance each time I need to adjust them.
I managed to establish the connection, but had to redo the new user and login entries for both computers. Even though I set it up without a password requirement, I still needed to enter it each time I connected. Alright, I’ll accept the partial success. Thanks again for your assistance!
