I'm feeling a bit stuck and scrolling through updates, wondering if I'm overthinking things. My Asus RT-AC5300 has been reliable for four years now, still performing well. It cost just over £500 when I bought it, and I can still get it back. Still curious about its lifespan—since it's older tech that doesn't support Wi-Fi 6, and newer models are available constantly. The reason it keeps going is the firmware updates, but I'm unsure when those will stop. Luckily I have it because most people get basic routers or modems for free, and I don’t need to replace it right now. I can't afford another one either.
