for some reason my performance in AC Odyssey is quite poor. i use the custom preset from this video at 1080p ultrawide, but i'm unable to reach 60fps no matter what. checking my gpu and cpu usage didn't show any major issues, so it doesn't seem like a problem. other games run smoothly at 60fps, including Origins. i'm using an 1070 and a ryzen 1600.

It makes sense. For me, it drops to as low as 25fps, and my usage decreases at that point. I think I need some intel to run the game smoothly.

Yeah... I'm using a 1080ti before the 8700K, and before that I had a 4770K. It would drop FPS and GPU usage a lot when there were many NPCs... The 8700K fixed it completely. That game seems not very optimized, like most open-world Ubisoft titles... it needs a fast CPU with many cores.

brings to mind Watch Dogs 2, yet it's odd I don't face this problem in Origins, especially with the cities.

I realize I’m quite late with this update, but I discovered it while searching since I’m facing a low FPS problem.
I have an overclocked i7 8700K paired with a 2080 Ti at 1440p, yet I’m only achieving around 75-80 FPS on ultra settings. Even with the graphics turned up to maximum, a 2080 Ti and an OC’d 8700K still struggle to hit at least 100 FPS in any game, no matter how powerful the hardware is.
