Your PC specs include an H110M motherboard, an i5 7400 8Gb RAM, and you're considering adding an RX 470 or 1050 Ti. Rainbow is a graphics driver feature, so you'll need to check your GPU compatibility and install the appropriate drivers. For running Rainbow, ensure your system meets the minimum requirements for both the GPU and OS. Adjust settings accordingly to optimize performance.

The reason it doesn't seem to fit is either because there isn't enough space or due to a different interpretation of "fit" that I'm missing.

I have identical CPU and RAM, and I’m using a 1060 at around 60-80 FPS with most settings high. It should run smoothly and the game will perform well. Just make sure your PSU can support the graphics card.

Check your GPU memory usage for the 1060.

It's a bit low, so I suggest getting the card in a 4 GB version. I didn't because the 1060 is only available in 3 and 6 GB sizes.
