about FSB and some clarification.
I need some clarification on FSB overclocking.
I have an Athlon x2 II 255 (unknown model) that I can OC the FSB up to 110-120 depending on the temperature.
I noticed I can reach even higher speeds, but as it gets faster things behave oddly—speed increases, and at 140+ it speeds up noticeably, including game performance.
Could you tell me if this will happen with newer CPUs too?
Typically newer CPUs for overclocking come with unlocked multiplier, so you don't need to worry about FSB. Your Athlon CPU would need a Black Edition version to have unlocked multiplier. Consider using a divider to achieve memory speeds near the stock clock, which could help solve your issue.
